What are your personal tips for students of Bikram Yoga Sutherland Shire?
Don’t be afraid to fall out, but don’t make it your excuse to get out of the pose! Bikram says “90minutes of torture is better than 90years of torture!” also “How you show up on the mat is how you show up in life.”
What is the best/worst thing about being a Bikram teacher?
Best: The energy I feel when I teach. I love seeing my students at the end of class knowing that they’ve done something great for their body and mind. Today I am grateful that I teach Bikram Yoga, help people heal, find their personal power. Really helping them become strong, kind, happy, healthy people.
Words/phrases you overuse?
“Never give up!” “Jump back in!” “Find your warrior spirit!”
Do you remember what your first Bikram class was like?
I remember in the first forward bend (Padahastasana) that I was pulling so hard I did a somersault right of my mat! It was like human ten-pin bowling… LOL
Say something nice to the person who introduced you to Bikram Yoga.
I just saw the Bikram Yoga sign and walked right in to the studio. I followed my instinct and found that it was right all along.
